Footscray Hospital

The new Footscray Hospital, which officially opened in February 2026, represents Victoria’s largest single health infrastructure investment at $1.5 billion. The state-of-the-art facility features a 12-storey tower equipped with over 500 beds.The campus expands regional capacity to treat an additional 15,000 patients and handle 20,000 extra emergency department visits annually.

It integrates acute general care, surgical theatres, and a dedicated mental health and drug hub with Victoria University education spaces. The precinct emphasizes community well-being with abundant natural light, green spaces, and integrated retail hubs.
