Our Projects
Western Sydney International Airport
The design reflects the natural beauty of the Western Sydney region, incorporating local materials, natural light, and aesthetic elements inspired by the Cumberland Plain bush flora and neighbouring Blue Mountains.
Sustainable principles are embedded throughout, with features like extensive daylight use, natural ventilation, water recycling, and modular, energy-efficient construction.
The terminal roof, inspired by eucalyptus trees and airplane wings, enhances intuitive navigation and creates a sophisticated interplay of form and function.
Fixed link bridges provide clear views of aircraft and apron areas, with perforated metal screening fins inspired by jet engine turbines allowing filtered light and reduced glare.
Built in four stages, the airport will grow from an initial capacity of 10 million annual passengers by 2026 to 82 million, becoming Australia’s largest international gateway by 2060.
